About the project
Every parent adores their child, particularly when it is their first. That is exactly what Dulo, Humotion’s founding project is for us. Dulo is an engrossing 10-minute film that will leave an indelible impression on your mind. This film is expected to screen at the world’s most prestigious film festivals including Sundance, TIFF, Venice Film Festival, and Raindance. Dulo will be released on an OTT platform thereafter.
Synopsis
A 9-year-old orphan stumbles upon a special toy in the midst of a hostile war zone, propelling him to be the alpha among his peers. Will his newfound power lead him to justice, or will it lead him astray? This film is about a power struggle in the midst of a futile war.
Genesis
We all have our stories to share, some that we live, and some that live within us. As a child who developed a strong passion for filmmaking, Ajinkya places a significant emphasis on the uniqueness of the plot. Doing something different, a little off the beaten path brings him great joy and fulfillment. He believes that emotions are universal, that they are essential for all humans regardless of race, class, creed, or gender. A story should be written for a global audience because what binds us together is the array of emotions that it evokes.
As a producer, Ajinkya had been looking for a story like this for a long time, until he met Mehkansh. For the first time, he met someone who shared his point of view and passion for filmmaking. There was a bean of a story in the corner of their minds, dust-covered beneath everything that happened during the day. They picked it up, dusted it off, and sowed it in. This story is now ready to be told, provided with a little help from our audience.
What’s the progress? What’s left to be done? What’s the film’s schedule?
The pre-production phase has been completed successfully. With the cast in place and the final script in hand, the locations have been finalised. We also have teams ready for production and post-production. We’re all set now that the formalities have been completed and the only thing left to do is to shoot the film, edit it, and release it.
As our backers, we will take you through every step of the process by sending you regular updates on the film’s progress as well as behind-the-scenes insights. According to our plans, we will begin filming in the first week of August 2021. The film is scheduled to be ready for festival screenings in December 2021.
